Recognition of the Helical Sense of Polypeptides by a Chiral Metalioporphyrin Receptor

摘要

Recognition of the secondary structures of biologically important macromolecules by synthetic receptors is a fascinating and challenging goal in biomimetic and supramolecular chemistry. Although the recognition of DNA helices has been successful, examples are very limited for the recognition of the secondary structures of polypeptides in solution. Herein we report the first example of the recognition of the helical sense of poly(glutamic acid) (PGA) by using a chiral metalloporphynn receptor (1a) having an α, α'-xylylenediamide strap. We have found that 1a is capable of enantiosclectively binding amino acid derivatives by means of axial ligand exchange.
