摘要

Stereospecific functional group conversions of nonraeemic alcohols and diols and their derivatives are of increasing importance given the powerful catalytic asymmetric reactions available for their synthesis. If neighboring-group participa-tion and metal-catalyzed allylic substitution are excluded, there are exceedingly few reports of nucleophilic displacement reactions on unactivated saturated carbon leading to products with a high degree of retention of configuration.
