摘要

The p-azido bridging ligand is undoubtedly one of the most versatile for the creation of new materials with different magnetic properties. This ligand also allows the study of magneto-structural correlations in discrete complexes as well as in polymeric one- (ID), two- (2D). and three-dimensional (3D) complexes. There are two main coordination modes for azido bridging ligands: end-to-end (or μ-1.3) (EE) and end-on (or μ-1,1) (EO) (Fig. 1). The EO mode leads to ferromagnetic coupling and the EE modeto antiferrornagnetic. This variation in magnetic behavior appears to be generally valid for metal ions like Ni~(II), Cu~(II), Mn Mn~(III), Co~(II), and Fe~(II).
