摘要

Functional fluorescent dyes are of central importance as ac-tive components for light and electron transfer induced processes, mainly in the field of materials science and analysis. Especially a combination of reversible electron transfer and of efficient light absorption emission is essential for those processes playing the crucial role in photovoltaic photoelectrbchemical devices. Due to their high absorption coefficients as well as high quantum yields of emission, difloroboradiaza-s-indacenes havevery favorable photonic qualities. To our knowledge, investigations concerning the electron transfer properties of these dyes have not yet been reported In this communication we present tailor-made compounds that on one hand are highly fluorescent and on the other form stable radical cations and radical anions. The aim of these investigations is to obtain elec-trochemilummescent compounds that can be incorporated as active components into organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs). During the course of thiswork we also synthesized a donor-substituted derivative whose fluorescence is quenched by photoin-duced election transfer. This compound can be used for efficient proton-driven fluorescent switching.
