Since the first synthesis of stable N-heterocyclic carbenes(NHCs)A(Scheme 1)was reported by Arduengo and co-workers in 1991,their chemistry as stable carbene species has been extensively studied.Furthermore,the spectacular success of NHCs as a new class of ligands for transition-metal complexes and their application to catalytic systems have proved to be a tremendous advantage of using NHCs.
