Aziridines are three-membered nitrogen-containing hetero-cycles of great importance as versatile chiral building blocks in organic synthesis.They can also be found in natural products,such as mitomycin,porfiromycin,and mitiromycin,which are potent antitumor and antibiotic agents.Asymmetric protocols that involve chiral substrates or the utilization of chiral auxiliaries have been developed for the synthesis of aziridines.
