It is well known that many materials undergo structural phase transitions as a function of temperature,and that different atomic arrangements are stable in different temperature ranges.Although some of these phase transitions are irreversible,the original structure generally re-forms readily upon returning to the initial temperature.This process is fundamentally different from that observed for a small and rather unique category of organic-inorganic framework materials that exhibit so-called "dynamic structural changes.
