Octahedral NiFe2O4 for high-performance gas sensor with low working temperature

摘要

A novel octahedral NiFe2O4 was successfully synthesized by a simple hydrothermal approach. The octahedral NiFe2O4 was compared with alpha-Fe2O3 nano-rods and NiO nanospheres obtained by similar synthesis method. Their crystal structures and morphologies were investigated by X-ray diffraction (XRD), field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), and energy dispersive X-ray (EDX). As gas-sensing materials, NiFe2O4 exhibited high gas-sensing properties to 100 ppm acetone at low working temperature of 120 degrees C.
