As new CEO of IRPC in 2009 and in the wake of financial in U.S. and Europe, I had to tackle many issued simultaneously e.g., stabilizing the operations, habilitation of the financial position, preparation for new investment program and the most important and sensitive one is to resolve the conflicts and discontents by communities surrounding our facilities: I readily noticed since I assumed the position of CEO that even though Rayong province house one of the world largest/Industrial complex but the standard of living of locals were far less than satisfactory or in some case was unacceptable which created discontents among communities. I knew that if the situation was not resolved in an amicable way, the discontents among communities could propagate to the extent affecting industry as a whole.
