摘要

A short discussion was put forward by Shadab Far (2018) pointing out some limitations of the published research by Liu et al. (2016) on a semi-empirical model for peak strain prediction of X80 pipelines. This paper is hereby presented in an attempt to tackle the limitations pointed out by Shadab Far. Firstly, an error pointed out in the legend of Fig. 12(a) was corrected, and an improved dimensionless method for the regression model was also proposed and discussed. Furthermore, Shadab Far's contentions on various aspects of the published research by Liu et al. (2016) have been addressed by the authors and properly elucidated.
