摘要

The Armenian Ministry of Health (MOH) included IMCI (Integrated Management of Childhood Illness) in its national policy in 1999, and in 2001 clinical IMCI training for practitioners was conducted at three pilot sites. From April to November 2003, American Red Cross (ARC) and the American Red Cross Society (ARCS) implemented the community IMCI strategy using community-based peer health educators combined with a public information and local mass media campaign. This campaign was intended to increase public knowledge of correct child danger signs, increasing appropriate preventive and health promotion behaviours, and increasing appropriate access to primary healthcare services.
