A previously fit and well 56-year-old man presented with a single episode of generalised seizures that lasted 2-3 seconds, without a focal onset. The patient recovered with no neurological deficits. He had a similar episode of generalised seizures 18 months earlier and he had no further seizure episodes. During the first presentation, he did not seek medical advice due to the short duration of the seizure and lack of any neurological symptoms or deficits.
