The Canadian province of Ontario is to bring together experts to provide advice on how to prevent bee deaths following concerns over links with pesticide exposure. The Bee Health Working Group will be comprised of beekeepers, farmers, agribusiness representatives and staff from federal and provincial government agencies. It will provide recommendations on how to reduce potential risks to honey bees from exposure to neonicotinoid insecticides. The panel will meet for the first time this month and will provide its recommendations by spring 2014.
