EFSA drafts guidance on protected crop agchems

The European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) is seeking comments on draft guidance on the assessment of pesticides used on protected crops. The guidance relates to the clustering and ranking of emissions of active ingredients and transformation products to the environment. It has been drawn up as part of a project initiated in 2008 to develop specific methods to assess pesticides used on crops grown in greenhouses or under cover. The project was in response to EU member state comments that current guidance only relates to crops in open fields (AgrowHo 590, p 9).
