Elastomers with biocidal properties Part 1. Literature review

摘要

The article is a review of the literature on the use of biocidal elastomers in the prevention of infections. The causes of bacterial infections, especially those induced by multi-resistant bacteria, as well as ways of preventing infections have been described. The types of commonly used biocidal coatings were characterized. Moreover, elastomers with biocidal properties and their effects have been described. The requirements related to the rubber technology, which must be met by a biocidal substance used in elastomers, were also presented.
