Work done and work to come: Taparko-Bouroum Gold Project, Burkina Faso

Engineering design was largely completed, with minor work still required on electrical, instrumentation and piping. Pre-stripping of the 3/5 and G/T pits was completed and 150 000 tonnes of soft ore was mined and stockpiled. All mining equipment (two 85 t shovels, nine 53 t trucks, two loaders, one drill and two bulldozers) were on site and fully operational. Foundations were poured for all major installations. The mill building steelwork was fabricated and delivered onsite. The ball mill components were refurbished and delivered. The CIL tanks were assembled and painted, and installation of tank-top steelwork commenced.
