PLEASANT, Mich.—The first 11 months of 2017 have seen Michigan oil and gas drilling activity rebound significantly from one of the slowest years on record for the state's industry, with the 46 holes drilled to total depth from Jan. 1 through Nov. 30,2017 representing a more than 140 percent increase over the 19 holes drilled during the comparable period of 2016.
