Gulf South Rate Settlement Passes FERC Muster, but Segmentation and Pathing Issues Turned Back Over to the ALJ

On December 18 FERC officially accepted by letter order a settlement arranged by Gulf South Pipeline Company, LP (RP15-65) that has on board the Commission Trial Staff, Atmos Energy Corp., the Louisiana Municipal Gas Authority and Magnum Gas Marketing, LLC, the Indicated Shippers (BP Energy Co.; Chesapeake Energy Marketing, LLC; ExxonMobil Gas & Power Marketing Co.; and Petrohawk Energy Corp.; the Distributor Coalition (CenterPoint Energy Resources Corp.; Mobile Gas Service Corp.; Willmut Gas Co.; and the City of Vicksburg, MS) and the United Municipal Distributors Group (UMDG). The settlement will resolve all issues in this proceeding, with the exception of certain parties’ claims under section 5 of the Natural Gas Act (NGA) regarding segmentation and pathing. The Presiding Judge was instructed to resume hearings in Docket RP15-65 on those remaining issues.
