Power River Group Pursues Crude Oil Pipeline in Wyoming’s Power River Basin

On Dec. 9 Powder River Crude Services, LLC and Powder River Express, LLC, subsidiaries of Genesis Energy, LP (together, the Powder River Group) (OR16-8) submitted a petition for a declaratory order (PDO) at FERC seeking approval of the rates and terms that will drive a proposed 135-mile, 45,000 b/d pipeline designed to connect crude oil production in the Wyoming’s Powder River Basin to multiple downstream markets. The proposed pipeline offers delivery points to rail; local refining markets; the Cushing, Oklahoma crude oil hub; and connecting pipeline transportation in the Basin, “providing for a transportation system of substantially greater capacity, geographic reach, and market flexibility,” the companies said.
