World grains output nears 2016-17 record: IGC

Global grain production is estimated at 2.1bn t in 2017-18, down by just 1.9pc from last year's record, according to the International Grains Council (IGC). The IGC has revised up its forecasts consistently over recent months as the outlook improved for wheat and maize in key regions.
