To observe the efficiency of artificial regeneration over natual regeneration for Sal (Shorea robusta), an experiment was conducted at nursery campus of Faculty of Forestry and Rarha Research Station, simultaneously from June 1995 to June 2003. The data of two major parameters like seedling height and diameter were collected from the age of 3 years to 6 years. Further, the data was statistically analysed to calculate the level of signficance of artifical regeneration over natural regeneration. The calculated z-value of artificial regeneration of found highly significant as far as the data of seedling height and diameter were concerned over natural regeneation. Mean diameter and mean height were also calculated at the end of each year. Various typesof equations and coefficient of determination (R2) were also calculated between seedling height, diameter and age for artificial as well as natural regeneration for further catenation. Several types of graphs are also presented for clear-cut and quick understanding. Further, current annual increment and periodic annual increment were calculated. The C.A.I, and P.A.I, of artificial regeneration were found more, over natural regeneration. Survial percentage wasfound more in artificial regeneation over natural regeneration. Regression equation between age, mean height and mean diameter was also calculated in both the cases.
