CIT grants steel group motion for three-judge panel in Section 232 case

The U.S. Court of International Trade on Wednesday ruled in favor of granting the American Institute for International Steel's request for a three-judge panel in a case in which the group claims the Section 232 statute used to impose tariffs on steel imports is unconstitutional. Most CIT cases are heard by a single judge, but in challenges to the constitutionality of U.S. law and other instances with "broad and significant implications, the chief judge may assign the case to a three-judge panel," according to the court.
