Effectiveness of Treatments for Advanced Non-Small-Cell Lung Cancer With Exon 20 Insertion Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor Mutations

There are no approved effective treatments in advanced nonesmall-cell lung cancer (NSCLC) patients with exon 20 insertion epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) mutations. In the present survey of 3805 NSCLC patients screened for EGFR mutations, 84 patients had an exon 20 insertion. First-line pemetrexed-containing therapies were related to better outcomes. The mutation Ala763_Tyr764insPheGlnGluAla (A763_Y764 insFQEA) was related to a favorable response to tyrosine kinase inhibitors.
