US die cast demand stable, foundry alloy demand rising

There is always a slowdown in the summer for aluminium die cast and foundry alloy demandbecause the auto companies are doing their year-end change overs, but this is normalseasonality. In general, volumes have been good, and spreads have been wide, both ofwhich are good things in the secondary aluminium industry. CRU contacts report that theircustomers have decent backlogs, making them optimistic for the balance of the year.
