Beta-blockers in COPD: A systematic review based on recent research

摘要

Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) with cardiovascular complications is very common. Due to fear of exacerbating airway spasm, beta-blockers are rarely used in such patients. Many observational studies suggest that beta-blockers can reduce the disease progression and the risk of mortality in patients with COPD, but lack of confirmation from randomized controlled trials. This article reviews the application of beta-blockers in patients with COPD based on the results of the latest published randomized controlled trials.
