West Pilbara Iron Ore Project In Western Australia Takes A Step Forward

Australian iron ore exploration and mining company Aquila Resources Limited announced on Aug 9 that the Environmental Protection Authority (EPA) has recommended environmental approval for the mine and rail facilities for the West Pilbara Iron Ore Project in the Pilbara region of Western Australia. The first stage of the Project, in which the Company holds a 50% interest, entails a 30Mtpa mining operation based on reserves located south of Pannawonica and a rail network connecting the mine with a new port facility to be constructed at Anketell Point, west of Cape Lambert.
