Appalachian coal prices jumped at the front of the curve today, with calendar 2014 CSX rail-originated coal rising to the highest level in almost fve months. Next year's terms for Nymex-spec and CSX coal ended the day as much as $1.40/short ton higher than yesterday amid active trade. Gains petered out further along the curve.
