Ryoji Noyori Prize for Barry M. Trost

Barry M. Trost (Stanford University) is the winner of the 2013 Ryoji Noyori Prize, which was established in 2002 by The Society of Synthetic Organic Chemistry, Japan (SSOCJ) in order to recognize "outstanding contributions to research in asymmetric synthetic chemistry defined in its broadest sense". The prize, which is sponsored by Takasago International Corporation, comprises $10000, a certificate, and a medallion. Trost studied at the University of Pennsylvania, and carried out his PhD (awarded in 1965) under the supervision of Herbert O. House at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
