摘要

Since the discovery of the first transition-metal carbene complex in 1964, the chemistry of metal-carbon multiple bonds has gone on to become one of the great success stories of organometallic chemistry. In particular, the discovery of alkene metathesis, and later alkyne metathesis, has had a significant impact on the formation of carbon-carbon multiple bonds in organic synthesis, to the extent of the pioneers being awarded a Nobel Prize.
