摘要

High-field dynamic nuclear polarization (DNP) is emerging as an extremely powerful method to enhance the NMR sensitivity of solid samples. By transferring polarization from unpaired electrons (usually from stable exogenous radicals that are introduced by impregnating or dissolving the sample with a radical-containing solution) to nuclei, DNP has the potential to yield signal enhancements of several orders of magnitude. DNP has been successfully applied to the investigation of various biological samples. In parallel, the potential of high-field solid-state DNP has been demonstrated for materials science, or most recently to enhance the NMR sensitivity of bulk microcrystalline solids.
