摘要

Adult mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) hold great potential for the treatment of ischemic disease because they can contribute to angiogenesis by secreting a broad spectrum of angiogenic growth factors However, the low survival rate and poor engraftment of the transplanted MSCs limit the use of MSC-based therapy in a clinical setting. Recently, it was shown that transplanting stem cells as spheroids of approximately 200 兪m in diameter could be a promising strategy for improving their angiogenic efficacy.
