摘要

Coordination-driven self-assembly of organic ligands and metal ions is a powerful method for construction of large and well-defined molecular architectures. A large number of excellent examples for supramolecular coordination structures have been reported, such as squares, tetrahedra, octahedra, and cuboctahedra. In particular, supramolecular hosts with an isolated inner space possess unique functions such as molecular recognition, catalytic reactions, control of guest motion, and stabilization of unstable species, reflecting geometrical characteristics of each inner space.
