Francois Mathey Elected Foreign Member of The Chinese Academy of Sciences

Francois Mathey (Nanyang Technological University, Singapore) was elected as a Foreign Member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2011. Mathey studied at the Ecole Polytechnique, Paris, and received his PhD from the Universite Paris VI (now Universite Pierre et Marie Curie) in 1971. After working in the chemical industry, he was appointed Professor of Chemistry at the Ecole Polytechnique in 1986. Mathey joined the University of California, Riverside, as Distinguished Professor in 2003, and was made Nanyang Professor at Nanyang Technological University in 2008.
