摘要

Over the last decades there has been continuous interest in the synthesis and characterization of coordination clusters and cages, which are intriguing sub-classes of supramolecular compounds. The electronic and magnetic properties in such nanoscopic systems are often highly related to the symmetry, topology, and connectivity of their metal centers. Supramolecular chemistry approaches to influence the symmetry and nuclearity may provide a tool to generate multifunctional materials with tunable and desired attributes.
