摘要

Helical structures are ubiquitous in nature, and are essential and indispensable for various biological functions. Inspired by the elaborate functions of biological helices in molecular recognition, replication, translation, and catalytic activity, chemists have made great efforts to develop artificial helical polymers, supramolecules, and oligomers. In particular, helical systems that can undergo conformational changes triggered by external stimuli are of significant attraction not only for gaining deep insight into the biological process, but also for the development of switchable systems that can be utilized in the biological and materials sciences.
