Ligands are at the heart of coordination chemistry, organometallic chemistry, and homogeneous catalysis. The chemistry community is well aware of the immense importance of phosphine ligands in the above fields. In continuation with chemists' curiosities for the development of new as well as improvement of existing chemical properties and processes, the demand for new ligands always remains a major research avenue to explore.
