摘要

Phenols are found in various natural products ranging from coal tar containing simple phenols to red wine possessing numerous colored polyphenols with antioxidant proper-ties. In organic synthesis the development of mild, general, and efficient methods for the preparation of phenols still constitutes a significant challenge. Considering the availability of starting materials, the direct nucleophilic substitution of a halogen atom in aryl halides is an appealing approach to the synthesis of substituted phenols. However, reactions of non-activated substrates typically proceed under harsh reaction conditions (200-350 °C).
