For many years considerable effort has been directed towards the immobilization of transition-metal catalysts used in organic syntheses.There are several important benefits associated with immobilization,including easier separation of materials,straightforward recycling of the catalyst,and simplification in handling,and in most cases the metals are coordinated to polymer-supported ligands.
