摘要

The utilization of hydrogen as an energy source is important for fuel-cell vehicles and portable electronics. However, a major problem is the lack of efficient hydrogen storage methods. The United States Department of Energy has established a multistage target for development of hydrogen storage materials that are able to store 6 wt % (45 gL~(-1)) H2 by 2010 and 9 wt% (81 gL~(-1)) H2 by 2015 at moderate temperatures and pressures. Among the candidate hydrogen storage materials developed so far, none is capable of reaching these targets yet.
