摘要

Anisotropic metal nanostructures, such as nanorods, nano-tubes, and nanowires, exhibit optical properties of significant technological interest including enhanced fluorescence, nonlinear optical properties, optical resonances in the near infrared (NIR), and orientation-dependent plasmon excitation.In particular, metal nanowires have attracted particular interest because of their potential use as interconnects for the assembly and integration of molecular-scale components into electronic devices.In light of this potential, silver nanowires represent a special class of one-dimensional (1D) metal nanostructures, because bulk silver exhibits the highest electrical and thermal conductivity.
