Isolation of Single-Component Trimerization and Polymerization Chromium Catalysts: The Role of the Metal Oxidation State

Chromium catalysts account for over 90% of the patent and scientific literature of ethylene oligomerization. This metal also provides many potent polymerization catalysts. Therefore, its complexes are ideal systems for studying the factors that determine catalyst activity and selectivity for polymerization or selective oligomerization of ethylene, respectively.
