Owing to their eminent economical importance as molecular sieves,as storage materials,or as(shape-)selective heterogeneous catalysts,porous materials continue to draw attention in the fields of chemistry,physics,and material sciences.The field of porous materials has long been dominated by microporous inorganic solids like zeolites,aluminum phosphates,and gallium phosphates,but more recently it was supplemented by mesoporous systems,mainly based on silica,and by MOFs(metal-organic frameworks).
