Non-enzymatic kinetic resolution is an important technique in asymmetric synthesis to access optically active materials.A useful parameter for expressing the efficiency of resolution is the selectivity factor s,which is the ratio of the rate constants for the reaction of a chiral catalyst or a chiral reagent with the different enantiomers.
