The total carbomer of benzene,lb (C18(C2H)6),was first evoked in 1995 as an illustration of the general definition of carbomers (Scheme 1).At the same time,two reports dealt with the synthesis of (partial) ring carbomer of benzene,later named simply "carbobenzene" derivatives.
