摘要

X-ray absorptiometry was used to study bone tissue in male patients with vibration disease caused by local and general vibration. The neck of the femur and the lumbar vertebral column were under study. The data obtained from examination of 19 apparently healthy males of the same age who served as a control. The parameters that characterizes bone tissue density tended to decrease in patients with vibration disease. The less marked decrease in bone density in the vertebral column than in neck of the femur is explained by the development of osteochondrosis in this category of patients.
