Rising lube oil costs, environmental concerns and changing process requirements are driving demand for better-performing wiper packing in reciprocating compressors. Leakage rates of 0.35 fl.oz/hr (10.4 ml/hr) and higher are no longer considered acceptable. Applications with strict oil-free requirements, such as compressed natural gas service, are becoming more common.
