The Barnett Shale gas play of North Central Texas, U.S.A., has produced more than 9 Tcf (254.8 × 10~9 m~3) of gas since 1982, an industry publication has reported. The Powell Shale Digest, which examined production data filed with the Texas Railroad Commission (TRC), said output from the prolific producing region grew to nearly 1.9 Tcf (53.8 × 10~9 m~3) of gas in 2010. It said the Barnett Shale also has yielded nearly 26 MMbbl of oil and condensate since 1982.
