FIELD REPORT: THE FAYETTEVILLE SHALE GAS PLAY - Rapid Development and New Pipeline Completions Drive Production Rate Toward 1.0 Bcfd

According to a report at the Unconventional Gas International Conference & Exhibition in Fort Worth, Texas, U.S.A., in September 2008, sedimentary basins in the U.S.A. appear to contain a volume of technically recoverable unconventional gas that is ten times the ultimately recoverable volume of conventional gas. A recent INGAA Foundation report estimates that there are over 900 Tcf (25.5 × 10{sup}(12) m{sup}3) of recoverable natural gas from unconventional sources in the U.S.A. and Canada, with 624 Tcf (17.7 × 10{sup}12 m{sup}3) in the lower 48 states.
