Conference Report from JCCBP 2012 Sokendai - Hayama

摘要

The 34th annual meeting for the Japanese Society for Comparative Physiology and Biochemistry (JSCPB 2012) followed in the footsteps of a great tradition, and it did not disappoint. For the first time in its history, the conference was presented in English for almost its entire duration, which gave me an opportunity to engage with the latest Japanese research in this field. In addition, I felt honored that I was invited to contribute to the English skills scientific workshop held after the conference.Since this was my first ever visit to Japan, I was excited at the prospect of experiencing the Japanese culture, both inside and outside of the laboratory. First impressions were striking. Everything was perfectly on time and very well organized. The venue was excellent, with a view of the Pacific Ocean and Mt Fuji in the background; I now see why locals love this view. You have be there to appreciate it.
