Codes and Standards Relating to Total Corrosion Life Control in Chemical Plants

The codes and standards that have implication forcorrosion engineer are looked over. But most of Japanesestandards are made for keeping qualities of materials at productionand fabrication. To maintain aged equipments in chemical plants,post construction standards that provides the procedures of fitnessfor service are strongly required. And very limited qualifiedcorrosion resistant data based on fully standardized test of variouscharges of materials is available. At the corrodion design andcorrosion life control, more reliable and statistically analyzed dataincluding long term trends is also needed. Only the contributionsand efforts of corrosion engineers can construct practicalengineering bases and standards of corrosion services in industryfor themselves.
